Description

Don Richard Ashburn is, and will always be, one of the greatest Phillies, and the fans have always adored him. Offered is one of the original 7-1/2 foot square vinyl banners that hung in Veterans Stadium for all to see and admire Ashburn. The #1 placed inside a 7-foot circle exhibits wear from years of battling the Philadelphia elements. Due to the size/weight, a shipping surcharge will apply.

Whitey was loved when he played in the City of Brotherly Love but he became revered more and more every year that he spent among the rabid fans of the Phillies. His quick wit and Mid-west charm was never lost on his admirers. The Phillies showed their admiration by retiring his beloved #1 and displaying it prominently on the right field wall at old Veterans Stadium. The wooden version of Ashburn’s retired #1 (that was sold when Veterans Stadium was closed) fetched five-figures and was not displayed as visibility at the stadium as the original vinyl banner was. This is the last of the vinyl banners of Ashburn's retired #1 that hung at Veterans Stadium and is a must-have for the devoted Ashburn and Phillies fan. MLB hologram #MT 00288076
